Fight with Illanoyze

I had the privilege of living in a really scenic and historic part of Washington, D.C. this summer. Every morning on my way to work I would walk past the White House, the Washington Monument and the World Bank.

One can not help but to be struck by the fact that great men have walked these same routes as I was, and how the world has been changed several times over just around the corner from where I was staying.

However, these moments of reflecting on the illustrious past are frequently interrupted by the sad reality of the present when I see communities of homeless people sleeping on park benches, digging through trash for food and pleading for loose change.

One could not help but be struck by the irony at work. Here in this land of plenty, it is remarkable that this still persists on such a large scale.

This is nothing new, homelessness, we've all seen it wherever our neck of the woods are. Many of us did like I did every morning on the way to work: nothing. Well we at Illanoyze can't do that anymore.

Previously we funneled extra funds to try and combat the worldwide AIDS epidemic. And while this is a serious war that requires as many combatants as possible, we feel that our resources could have a more direct affect at this time trying to fight homelessness.

Please be mindful of the fact that we are not abandoning our mission to find a cure for this horrible disease, we hope to try and cure as many of the physical and social ills sickening this world as possible before it's all said and done. We just think that this is a more manageable battle at this time.

There is no good reason that anyone should have to live on the streets in a country where individuals are paid millions for playing games of various sorts in various sports. And I don't know about you all, but none of the members of Illanoyze are rich, so it is not beyond reason that that homeless person on the street could be us after a missed paycheck or two, or any one of you as well.

To that end, join us as we try and correct this problem. By supporting Illanoyze you will be taking a major step towards correcting this problem, and preventing more people from having to take to the streets.

We thank you for your continued support. Peace and God bless.
